VFW is warning that Section 108 of the proposed Take Care of America’s Veterans Act could reduce disability compensation for some future veterans, including through changes involving tinnitus and sleep apnea.
An important distinction: VFW says existing recipients would be protected under this provision. These proposed changes have NOT become law.
VFW is also calling for passage of a clean, standalone Major Richard Star Act to help eligible combat-injured retirees receive their full earned retirement and disability benefits.
Every member of Congress should explain how these proposals would affect the people who served. Our military community deserves clear answers and careful scrutiny of the details.
