We’ve also seen emergency preparedness messaging from Japan, the United Kingdom, and Finland encouraging households to maintain essential supplies.

Now we’re learning about a recorded meeting in which activists discussed bringing French-style protest movements to America, including statements from one participant about overthrowing the United States government.

QUESTIONS ABOUT GOVERNMENT EMERGENCY PREPARATIONS

For me, this raises even more questions about these government emergency preparations.

Are these developments connected in any way?

What specific threats are government agencies preparing for?

And what information is being communicated to the American public?

There is no established connection between the recorded meeting and these government preparedness initiatives. Emergency planning can address many different threats, including natural disasters, infrastructure failures, and military emergencies.

But Americans should be informed about both developments and have access to the information necessary to evaluate them.
